Learning opportunities at a St Ives-based telecommunications company – FE News

Cambridge Regional College (@CRC_College) has partnered with Magdalene in a new venture to provide learning opportunities in business administration and customer service at the St. Ives-based telecommunications company. As Magdalene embarks on the apprenticeship program, an employer pitch event was held at the head office to showcase the apprenticeship opportunities and highlight the benefits of joining the company.

Melissa Lloyd, Network Operations Center Manager, said:

“Joining Magdalene will provide endless opportunities. The company is growing rapidly and we are keen to develop our own talents internally to meet the needs of the business.

Magdalene, part of M Group Services, has seen its employees grow by more than 100% in the last 12 months and this growth is expected to continue over the next few years. Working with CRC, Magdalene is exploring the industry placement offer for full-time students, to help learners develop practical and technical skills within the organization to lead them into an apprenticeship. Magdalene is also keen to expand her learning opportunities across the company, which means there may be additional opportunities in areas such as engineering as the learning program expands.

Kerry Attfield, Head of Employment Engagement at CRC, added:

“Partnering with Magdalene is an exciting opportunity for anyone looking to start their career in an established company within the telecommunications industry. The Employer Showcase event allowed us to introduce potential apprentices to the employer in an informal setting, allowing them to meet the team, tour the offices and learn more about the company with which they could undertake their learning.
