Glo Fiber expands telecommunications services to Frederick

Glo Fiber, powered by Shenandoah Telecommunications Company, on Tuesday announced the expansion of its all-fiber network to Frederick, marking the company’s first Glo Fiber market in Maryland.

The company expects the service to be available in January, providing an all-fiber choice for high-speed service to approximately 20,000 homes and businesses.

Glo Fiber provides next-generation fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) Internet access, streaming TV and phone service in the Mid-Atlantic region, with optional wall-to-wall Wi-Fi service that allows customers to connect anywhere in their home or business. With Wi-Fi 6 technology, customers can enjoy faster speeds, better performance, and better support for simultaneous use of devices throughout their home with the assurance of advanced protection and automatic updates.

Using Shentel’s 7,000 mile regional fiber optic network, Glo Fiber can guarantee reliable high-speed Internet connection with simple, zero-latency pricing.

Glo Fiber will offer three levels of symmetrical broadband Internet access, television streaming and unlimited local and long distance telephone service in the region. The Glo TV service is delivered through an app and is compatible with Apple TV, Amazon’s Fire Stick, and many smart TVs with built-in streaming software. Internet pricing is all-inclusive, with no additional fees or surcharges, excluding taxes.
